The Power of the Sun

I know we’d all appreciate some sunny days around here, but perhaps none more than Gregory and Pat Wojczak of Oconomowoc, who live in a passive-solar home. Their energy bills have been almost cut in half by harnessing the power of the sun, read more in Energy shines down:

“I don’t know if we were thinking that much about saving energy at the time,” Gregory Wojczak said. “One of our neighbors had built a passive-solar home with Bob (Stockdale) and I think we just liked the concept. And hey, if we could save a nickel to use the sun, we probably liked that, too.”

With the rising costs of heating a home, it seems like going solar would be a no-brainer for a new home, especially if the cost of doing so could be recouped in energy savings.
