Swimming Horse

Recently the Wisconsin Equine Clinic & Hospital (Google Map) treated a horse from Genesee that decided to go swimming in a neighbor’s pool – in January.

See the story: Horse on Loose Winds Up in Swimming Pool:

The pool’s owner called for help, and local firefighters used netting to hoist the horse out.

The horse, believed to have been in the water at least an hour and a half, was treated for scrapes and sore muscles…

Loiselle said Dancer apparently became frightened and slipped in the pool.

Don’t people generally drain their swimming pools before Winter? Oddly enough I just mentioned yesterday that we could probably go swimming in Fowler Lake if we wanted to, since the warm weather has provided a nice bit of open water…
